The C7976A HP LTO-6 Data Backup Tape is the latest generation of the HP LTO family and comes with 2.5TB native and 6.25TB compressed data storage capacity. The HP C7976A LTO-6 Data Backup Tape Cartridge offers 160 Mbps native data transfer speed and up to 400 Mbps compressed data transfer speed. The C7976A HP LTO-6 is capable of transferring 1.4TB data with 2.5:1 compression in just one hour. The cartridge is designed to retain its archival quality for up to 30 years.
Compared with previous generation HP C7975A LTO-5 cartridge, the new LTO-6 backup tape features more than double compressed storage capacity and offer a 40% performance boost. HP C7975A LTO-5 holds up to 1.5TB native and 3TB of compressed data. The LTO-5 drives are capable of transferring native data at rate of 200MBps or up to 1TB per hour with 2:1 compression.
